Bukwo, Uganda – July 14, 2026

The Sabiny Transformation Initiative (STI), in partnership with the Strategic Initiative for Women in the Horn of Africa (SIHA), and with funding from the African Women’s Development Fund (AWDF), is today holding a one-day Integrated Advocacy and Dissemination Forum in Bukwo District.

The forum has brought together key stakeholders, including local government leaders, civil society organizations, community representatives, women leaders, youth, and development partners to disseminate the outcomes and recommendations from the East African Community regional engagements held in Kampala.

The meeting aims to strengthen advocacy efforts, promote awareness of regional commitments, and encourage stakeholders to integrate the recommendations into local development planning and policy implementation.

Participants are also discussing strategies for advancing women’s rights, gender equality, peacebuilding, and inclusive development within Bukwo District and the wider East African Community.

Speaking at the forum, organizers emphasized the importance of translating regional resolutions into practical actions that improve the lives of communities, particularly women and marginalized groups.

The one-day meeting is taking place today, Tuesday, July 14, 2026, in Bukwo District, and is expected to conclude with recommendations that will guide future advocacy initiatives and strengthen collaboration among stakeholders.
