Residents of Soi County in Kween District are expected to benefit from improved emergency medical services following the donation of an ambulance by the district’s Woman Member of Parliament, Hon. Sange Jackline.

The ambulance, bearing the inscription “Woman Member of Parliament Kween,” was officially handed over to Soi County yesterday by the legislator.

The donation is expected to address longstanding challenges in transporting critically ill patients, expectant mothers and accident victims to health facilities in Kween District and neighbouring Kapchorwa.

Soi County has been grappling with limited emergency transport services, compounded by a poor road network that often makes it difficult for residents in hard-to-reach areas to access timely medical care.

Residents have welcomed the initiative, expressing optimism that the ambulance will improve access to emergency healthcare, help save lives and contribute to reducing maternal deaths in the area.

The impact of the donation will, however, depend on the ambulance’s availability, fuel supply, maintenance and the arrangements put in place to ensure timely response to emergencies.

The handover took place yesterday in Soi County.
