The Parish Chief of Bukwa Sub-County, Cherotich Shauline, has welcomed the African Heritage Initiative for introducing a vocational skills programme aimed at empowering young people in the community.

Speaking during the launch of the training, Cherotich Shauline said the programme targets youth aged 18 to 45 years and is expected to improve livelihoods through practical skills and entrepreneurship.

The African Heritage Initiative is offering training in various vocational courses, including hairdressing, tailoring, catering, carpentry, welding, and other income-generating skills to equip participants for self-employment.

She encouraged eligible youth to take advantage of the opportunity, noting that vocational skills are essential in addressing unemployment and reducing poverty in Bukwa Sub-County.

Cherotich Shauline also commended the African Heritage Initiative for partnering with the community to promote skills development and youth empowerment, urging participants to remain committed throughout the training.

The programme is expected to benefit hundreds of young people by equipping them with practical knowledge that will enable them to create sustainable sources of income and contribute to local development.
