The LCV Bukwo district ,Mr chesol Tom has spoken about the sad death of a mother from Chepkwasta on June 20th at Bukwo HCIV. She had gone for a caesarean section.
He says the family gave consent for the operation, but sadly the mother did not survive. The LCV says there may have been staffing gaps that day.
He says he has already talked to the DHO. Bukwo urgently needs more nurses and midwives, and more staff will be brought in. He also promised quarterly meetings to make sure health services improve.
Police are still investigating what exactly happened. A postmortem report has been done outside Bukwo, and the report will be shared soon.
The LCV has asked the family to go ahead with burial arrangements. And for the staff who were negligent that day, he says the district will discipline them or have them interdicted
