The Resident District Commission of Bukwo, mr George Owanyi has today led a joint monitoring team and stakeholders’ meeting at Bukwo General Hospital, to check on the progress of the ongoing maternity ward renovation.

During the site visit, the RDC toured the construction site alongside district officials, hospital management, and the contractor. He stressed that improving maternal health is a top priority for government.

Dr. Satya Collins ,the medical superintendent says renovation of the maternity ward is now 70% complete. The hospital plans to reopen mid-July, and he says they are expecting a big number of patients, as many will see the upgraded ward as a brand-new facility.

The exercise brought together district technical staff, hospital management, health officials and project contractors to inspect works on site and review timelines, quality standards, and budget utilization.
