Kaochorwa: Four engineering officers from kapchorwa municipality including the acting principal engineer have been remanded until December after appearing before the kapchorwa magistrates court on charges related to embezzlement , neglect of duty and falsification of documents in connection with municipal road works.
The accused include, Cherop Bob , the principal engineer of kapchorwa municipality , and three other staff, Cherotich Alex , Chepkwurui silvester and kusuro Patrick
They were produced before court on Wednesday, where state prosecutors outlined series of allegations tied to misuse of road maintenance funds and deliberate conspiracy to defraud the municipality.
According to the prosecution, the four officials are suspected of embezzling road repairs within the municipality, falsifying project reports , and failing to execute their duties, leading to substandard works and questionable accountability
