The Bukwo district council has constituted new leadership bodies to strengthen service delivery and governance during its 7th District meeting held today june 23, 2026.
Councillors approved the formation of the district service commission, District land board, Public accounts committee and the district disability council, key structures mandated to oversee recruitment, land administration, financial accountability, and inclusion of persons with disabilities in district programs.

The district service commission is expected to handle recruitment, confirmation, and discipline of district staff, while the land board will manage land transactions and resolve disputes at district level. The public accounts committee will scrutinize audit reports and ensure proper use of public funds, and the disability council will advocate for the rights and participation of persons with disabilities in development programs.

Speaking to Radio 9fm, the district LCV chairperson,Hon chesol Tom stressed that no one will be allowed to sell jobs in the district public service. He also confirmed that the newly constituted district service commission will undergo training once their appointment documents are returned from kampala.
